Today there are around twenty casinos in Metropolitan Manila that sets it a class apart. One of the oldest surviving casinos of Manila is the Casino Filipino Pavilion located at the former Holiday Inn Manila Pavilion. Most of these casinos are located near the Bay area and come under the umbrella of PAGCOR, these PAGCOR regulated casinos normally operate under the brand name of Casino Filipino. After that, there has been a fast rise in the number of casinos in Manila. After the regulations of all its rules, PAGCOR opened its first new casino named the Manila Bay Casino in the year 1977.
Since 1976, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has regulated the rules around the grounds of gambling. Before 1976, most of Manila had events of illegal gambling, and the operating of unlicensed casinos had begun in the country of the Philippines.
